Epic West Virginia Weekend

In July 2013, a bunch of folks gathered in Petersburg, WV.  It was a familiar trip to some and a first time for me.  It was a two day adventure to get there from Mississippi, beginning in Tuscaloosa with two of us and several more along the way.  We stayed in Bristol, VA and headed off the next morning to ride the "Back of the Dragon" thru Virginia to reach Petersburg and our intended rendezvous with the others for dinner.  We had twenty-one at breakfast on Saturday morning and then we rode some of the most spectacular roads and experienced scenery that helps you see why they call it West "By God" Virginia. The group included many who had previously met and ridden together.  But it also included many first-timers for such a gathering.  States represented included; Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.  It was my first "big" ride as I logged over 2,000 miles in the five days.  But more than that, I made friends I will cherish forever.
